Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Able Scaffolding website at ablescaffoldingbath.co.uk and the scaffolding services we provide. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

Able Scaffolding is a trading name of Able Scaffolding Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Bath, Somerset.

1. Service Scope

Able Scaffolding provides the erection, adaptation, and dismantling of scaffolding structures for residential, commercial, and industrial properties across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, and the wider South West of England.

All work is carried out by CISRS-accredited operatives in accordance with TG20 guidance and current British Standards. The scope of any individual job is agreed in writing prior to commencement and forms part of the contract between you and Able Scaffolding.

We reserve the right to decline any enquiry or job at our discretion, including where site conditions are deemed unsafe or where the requested work falls outside our area of expertise.

2. Quotes & Pricing

All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry; any changes to the scope of work may result in a revised quote.

Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless expressly stated otherwise. VAT will be charged at the prevailing rate where applicable.

We reserve the right to adjust pricing where unforeseen site conditions, access difficulties, or changes in material costs arise. We will notify you of any such adjustment before proceeding.

3. Payment Terms

Payment terms are agreed at the time of booking and set out in your written quote or invoice. Standard terms are payment in full upon completion of the erection phase, unless a staged payment schedule has been agreed in writing.

We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque, or cash. Payment details will be provided on your invoice.

Late payment may incur interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. We reserve the right to recover reasonable debt recovery costs.

Scaffolding will not be dismantled until all outstanding invoices have been settled in full, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel a booked job by giving us at least 48 hours' written notice prior to the scheduled start date. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation charge to cover mobilisation costs already incurred.

Where materials have been pre-ordered or delivered to site, the cost of those materials may be charged regardless of cancellation notice period.

Able Scaffolding reserves the right to postpone or cancel a job where site conditions are unsafe, access is not available as agreed, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent us from proceeding. In such cases, we will reschedule at the earliest mutually convenient date.

5. Liability

Able Scaffolding carries public liability insurance to a minimum of £5,000,000. A copy of our current certificate of insurance is available on request.

Our liability to you in connection with any job is limited to the value of that job. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses arising from our services, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of use, or delays caused by third parties.

We are not responsible for damage caused by third parties accessing or interfering with scaffolding erected on your property. You are responsible for ensuring that unauthorised persons do not access the scaffolding structure.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that we have safe and unobstructed access to the site on the agreed start date and throughout the duration of the hire period.

You must inform us of any known hazards on or near the site, including underground services, asbestos, fragile roofs, or restricted access.

You must not alter, move, or remove any part of the scaffolding structure without our prior written consent. Unauthorised interference with scaffolding may invalidate our insurance and create a serious safety risk.

You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions, licences, or consents required for the erection of scaffolding on or adjacent to your property, including highway licences where scaffolding overhangs a public footpath or road.

7. Intellectual Property

You may view and print pages from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
